'Dreaming of Versailles'

This illustrated collage shows the golden gate to the Palace of Versailles surrounded by elements of the decor and one of its most famous residents, Marie Antoinette. There is a shoe, a piece of her jewellery, her favourite flowers tulips and roses, a statue and a key. A chandelier and statue from the Hall of Mirrors grace each side of the gateway.

'Almost Midnight'

This illustration is inspired by the Wallace Collection in London. I drew and combined two of my favourite objects in their collection: The Swing by Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1767) and a musical clock by Jean-Claude Chambellan Duplessis (c.1762). 'The Swing' has always reminded me of Cinderella as she is about to lose her slipper. The time is almost midnight, maybe this explains why her slipper was left behind...?

'The Gold State Coach'

This illustration features the Gold State Coach (from The Royal Collection) which I drew to in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

'The Secret Garden'

An illustration inspired by the magical garden that Mary Lennox discovers in the novel
by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

‘Coronation Crown’

An illustration to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III. The illustration is inspired by His Majesty’s commitment to protecting the environment as well as incorporating floral symbols of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It also references his love for red squirrels (he sometimes lets them run in his home in Scotland and leaves nuts in his coat pocket for them!)

‘His Lordship & Her Ladyship’

Two little mice in 18th Century costume have climbed onto one of the Sèvres ship vases in the collections at Waddesdon Manor in search of their next adventure. (This illustration is available on greeting cards in Waddesdon’s Gift & Wine Shop)

‘Dressed like a Duchess’

A little mouse seems to have found herself a miniature portrait of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire by Gainsborough (the original hangs at Chatsworth House). The mouse has then decided to fashion herself an outfit like the Duchess’.

‘When in Rome’

Two little mice have dressed in Roman costume; one is reclining in a toga wearing a Diadem on her head and the other is dressed as Cupid, standing on an Ionic order column. (From The Mouseum Collection)

‘Fit for a Queen’

A mouse has dressed as Queen Elizabeth I (referencing the miniature portrait on the wall beside her) whilst another mouse paints her portrait. (From The Mouseum Collection)

‘Knight in Shining Armour’

A little mouse dressed as a knight stands guard on the shoulder of a suit of armour.

(From The Mouseum Collection)

‘Mousequerade’

Mice in Georgian costume are having a masked ball on a chandelier.

(From The Mouseum Collection)

‘Pineapple Carriage’

I illustrated a Pineapple Carriage greeting card inspired by the Feast & Fast exhibition at The Fitzwilliam Museum to be sold in their Courtyard Shop and Exhibition Shop. The design referenced the peacocks in the exhibition and the gold 13ft pineapple (by Bompas and Parr) which was displayed on the front lawn of the museum.
